Restructured Cello Reports Big Revenue Rise

UK-based insight and marketing services group Cello has reported an 18.2% increase in revenue to £159.7m for the year to 31st December 2013.

Mark ScottCello has two operating divisions: Cello Signal (previously known as Cello Consumer and now encompassing social media and mobile research, and digital communications services) and Cello Health. Earlier this month, the group unified its health-oriented agencies under the Cello Health brand, bringing together five existing businesses: Insight Research Group, The MSI Consultancy, Cello Business Sciences (a web-based analytic offering for pharmaceutical clients), MedErgy HealthGroup and Mash Health Group.

Overall for the group, annual gross profit was up 14.8% to £74.7m, from £65.1m the previous year. Of this, Cello Health saw a 13.8% increase in gross profit to £35.6m, while Cello Signal reported a 15.7% increase to £37.8m. Group headline profit before tax was up 21.1% to £8.5m (2012: £7.0m).
