Yahoo! Buys App Measurement Firm Flurry

Yahoo! has acquired US app measurement and advertising platform Flurry, in line with its declared intention to build and support 'useful, inspiring, and beautiful' mobile apps and monetization solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Simon KhalafFlurry helps clients to measure, advertise and monetize mobile properties, and says it now measures app usage on more than 1.4 billion connected smart devices each month and 5.5 billion app sessions every day. Its services cover a full range of operating systems including iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Mobile Web and HTML5.

In a statement, Yahoo! said the two firms will continue to invest in building analytics products, and their combined offerings will help brands provide more personalized app experiences. The Flurry teams will remain in their present locations in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Mumbai and London.
