Kantar Media Names Sanchez Director of Social TV

Audience research specialist Kantar Media has appointed Carlos Sanchez for a newly created role, Director of Social TV.

Carlos SanchezSanchez (pictured) is the co-founder of Barcelona-based social media and TV analytics agency The Data Republic, which was acquired by Kantar Media earlier this year. In his new role, Sanchez will be responsible for the ongoing development of the firm's core capabilities around the intersection of social media and television. In a statement, the company said that the appointment reinforces its expertise in this area, which includes its global partnership with Twitter to develop a suite of tools to support planning and analytics for the TV industry.

Sanchez will be part of Kantar Media Audiences, whose Global CEO Richard Asquith comments: 'Having launched and managed an innovative and successful start-up enterprise, Carlos is ideally placed to take on the challenge of creating Kantar Media's social TV 'hub' as we roll it out across the globe.'
