Full service agency MRSS INDIA has acquired a majority stake in New Delhi-based digital MR specialist EMTEE Research and Consultants. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
EMTEE Research was founded by former Nielsen exec Mukund Tripathi, who worked for the company for more than eleven years, and most recently served as its Head of Retail Measurement Services in Malaysia. During his time with the firm, he was also its Country Head for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Retail Measurement Services, as well as its Director of Client Solutions. Tripathi began his career at ORG-MAR.
MRSS India was set up in 2012 by Asian firm Majestic MRSS and former Nielsen MD Sarang Panchal, to offer Indian marketers local access to technology for consumer insight generation. Commenting on the deal with EMTEE Research, Panchal said: 'This strategic acquisition is a significant building block for value creation in the market research industry, by using digital platforms to get faster and accurate information, and is synergistic with our other services to the marketing fraternity.'
