NPD Hires Bremer as Head of Research Science Group

US-based retail tracking provider The NPD Group has appointed John Bremer as Senior Vice President, Research Science, to lead the team that designs, maintains and enhances its methodologies.

Bremer (pictured) joins from Toluna where he worked for the past four years, most recently as Group Chief Research and Strategy Officer. Prior to this he was CRO at Kantar firm Compete (now Millward Brown Digital); and he worked for Harris Interactive as SVP, Global Representativeness and Co-Director of the Center for Innovation. In this last role he developed Harris' proprietary propensity score weighting technique, and produced successful election forecasts in the US in 2000-2008 and in the UK in 2005-2010.

In his new role, Bremer reports to former Toluna colleague George Terhanian, Group President and Chief Research and Analytics Officer, who comments: 'John will be a valuable addition to our leadership team as we introduce new approaches and techniques that keep NPD at the forefront of our industry and help our clients understand and address changes in consumer behavior and the retail landscape'.
