GfK's Phil Bird Joins Sample Answers as MD

UK-based sampling agency Sample Answers has appointed Phil Bird, previously DP Director and Head of Data Development and Delivery at GfK NOP, as its new Managing Director.

Sample Answers has offices in Europe and the Americas, and sources its sample both on- and off-line. Around two years ago the firm received an injection of cash from private investment partnership EXIMS, an investment vehicle formed by a group of market researchers and publishers.

In seventeen years in DP Director roles at GfK and its predecessor NOP World, Bird has built and led teams in the UK, North America and Eastern Europe. He joined NOP in 1995 after working for RSGB and Public Attitude Surveys (PAS).

Bird, who has particular expertise in data delivery solutions, survey technologies and international resource management, says his new company has 'a demanding set of strategic, technical and operational objectives planned'. Sample Answers Chairman Tony Dent comments: 'Phil comes to us from GfK NOP where he has had extensive international experience of market research operations and he is the ideal person to take us forward with the new products we plan under the development umbrella of 'future truth'.
