SSI Rolls Out One Million-Strong US Voter Panel

January 13 2016

Research data solutions and technology firm SSI has launched an online voter panel with nearly a million members, to provide political researchers with broad access to the attitudes, beliefs and opinions of American voters.

Bob FawsonThe firm has been conducting political polls for 39 years, and this is the tenth US presidential election for which it has provided sample and data. SSI says its new US Voter Panel provides the same targeting ability and accuracy found in phone voter samples. Panelists have been profiled to include attributes such as voter registration status, Congressional district, party affiliation, and past voting behaviour at national, state and local levels.

Pollsters can sample the panel to reach constituents who might not answer a phone survey, and gain additional insights into issues, trends, candidate perceptions and voter turnout. The new panel has been launched to complement the firm's existing SSI Presidential Pulse, which provides real-time checks on the opinions of the voting public on candidate favorability throughout the election year.

Chief Product Officer Bob Fawson (pictured) comments: 'By matching SSI data to a respected market-leading voter file, we can provide a critical layer of validation that allows clients to be more confident in the representivity of political outcomes. Political pollsters have greatly valued our superior telephone sampling approach. Now they can also fully realize the power of augmenting studies using SSI's high quality online panel'.
