Merkle Hires GM for Media and Publisher Business

In New York, data-driven consumer insights and analytics specialist Merkle has appointed former News Corp exec Charlie Weiss as General Manager, Media and Publisher Solutions.

Charlie WeissOwned by marcoms group Dentsu Aegis Network, Merkle offers a wide range of services, including data and analytics, marketing technology, digital agency services and consulting; and its additional media-related products and solutions include data onboarding, matching and syndication. Weiss (pictured) joins from News Corp, where he served as VP, Ad Marketplaces, in charge of growing programmatic and data advertising across business units. Prior to this, he was Executive Director of Digital Strategy and Yield Management at Dow Jones; and Senior Manager, Pricing and Yield Management at Yahoo! Earlier he held senior roles at the Wall Street Journal.

In his new position, Weiss will focus on managing and growing partnerships and solutions within Merkle's media and publisher business. Gerry Bavaro, the group's SVP Enterprise Solutions, comments: 'Charlie's extensive experience leveraging data, inventory, and programmatic in innovative ways will ensure our continued success partnering with media sellers and buyers'.
