Maru/Matchbox Promotes Matisz to SVP, Platform Ops

August 11 2017

In Canada, MARU Group's tech and communities business Maru/Matchbox has promoted Derek Matisz to the role of Senior Vice President, Platform Operations. In addition, Leigh Frost, Chief Process Officer, has left the business.

Derek MatiszMaru/Matchbox was formed through the acquisition of Vision Critical's North American Research Consulting division early last year. Prior to the takeover Matisz (pictured) worked for Vision Critical as VP of Project Management, reorganizing its project reconciliation process and strengthening its project management capabilities. Prior to this, he spent more than five years at Ipsos, latterly as Senior Project Manager; and worked in management roles at the McDonalds Corporation.

In his new position Matisz will report to Ged Parton, who comments: 'Derek is an extremely positive, proactive and practical leader. His outcome-focused can-do approach, combined with his expertise in executing insight communities and platform-based work, makes him the obvious candidate to lead Matchbox's platform operations'.

Frost leaves after nine years with the business, prior to which she spent more than six years as VP of Ipsos, and nearly six years as a Director at Yankelovich. Parton thanked her for her hard work and dedication, and wished her well for the next phase of her career, details of which have not yet been disclosed.
