In Australia, marcoms group WPP AUNZ has launched a strategy consulting division, led by former Kantar Vermeer exec Caspar Wright.
WPP AUNZ was formed in 2016, following WPP's acquisition of a controlling stake in STW Communications. The firm says its new division's approach will be grounded in consumer research and advanced data analytics, tying insights to dollars and applying 'whole-brain thinking' to its work.
Wright (pictured) joins WPP AUNZ Consulting from WPP-owned strategy and marketing consultancy Kantar Vermeer, where he served as Managing Partner - Australia & NZ. Prior to this he was MD of MR specialist Catalysis Consulting, and he spent more than twelve years at food and beverage firm Lion Nathan, latterly as Category, Planning & Insight Director. In his new role, his leadership team includes WPP AUNZ Consulting Partner Patrick Fry - and other senior WPP AUNZ executives including Chief Data Scientist Rob Pardini and Chief Strategy Officer Rose Herceg, will work on projects when required.
Commenting on the launch, WPP AUNZ CEO Mike Connaghan said: 'This a strategic move to help clients focus on where to play and how to win in a fast-paced business environment. By using futurist thinking principles and adopting a holistic approach, WPP AUNZ Consulting will help companies think differently about where their business is and where it should be going'.
