MarketTools Hires Technology Expert as CEO

US research agency MarketTools has appointed Amal Johnson, founding partner of Lightspeed Venture Partners, as CEO. Johnson, who has more than 20 years' experience in technology and services companies, plans to use technology to enhance the company's research offerings.

Prior to joining MarketTools, she spent five years at Lightspeed Venture Partners, where she focused primarily on enterprise software and infrastructure investments. Before Lightspeed, she was President of Baan Supply Chain Solutions (now part of SSA Global Solutions) and guided Baan through its initial public offering. Previously, she was President of ASK Manufacturing Systems, and held various executive positions with IBM.
