J.D. Power Forms Asian Alliance

J.D. Power-LMC, the company's automotive forecasting division, has formed an alliance with Automotive Resources Asia (ARA). The two firms will initially focus on sales, production and powertrain forecasts for Asia, within J.D. Power's existing frameworks.

The companies also plan to collaborate in the marketing of each other's products, as well as with proprietary forecasting projects in the region, where ARA has been delivering automotive market information and strategy since 1993.

Jeff Schuster, Executive Director of Global Forecasting at J.D. Power-LMC, describes the company's new partner as a 'premier authority in the region', noting that 'local experience is necessary to understand market forces, especially in countries like China, India and Thailand'.

John Bonnell, a Partner at ARA, believes that 'adding our experience of analysing Asia's developing markets to the global procedures of J.D. Power will offer superior intelligence to clients in Asia'.
