Growth for Aberdeen Group

November 15 2006

In the US, value chain insight specialist Aberdeen Group has announced an expansion of its Product Innovation and Engineering practice and the hiring of Ric Stanley and Mehul Shah as Research Analysts.

Stanley will lead a new electrical engineering research practice that will focus on how companies are enabling the development of electronic products and electronic design automation (EDA). He was previously Director of Engineering at Flextronics, and has also worked as Director of Design Technologies at EMC.

Shah's focus will be on product documentation as an integral part of the product lifecycle, including its impact on development costs and time to market. He worked previously for the Worldwide Services Group at IDC, on data mining and analysis for the IT services and telecoms industries.

Jim Brown, the firm's VP Product Innovation and Engineering Research, says the appointments reflect continued expansion of the PLM (product lifecycle management) market, as 'manufacturers of all sizes seek to educate themselves on the value of improving product development processes and technology.'
