EmSense Hires Ad Agency Veteran

Timothy CarlisleIn the US, EmSense - which creates physiological and brainwave measurement technology - has appointed Timothy Carlisle as SVP of Sales, to expand the firm's client portfolio and support development of its suite of media engagement measurement products and services.

Carlisle was most recently EVP of Business Development at point of purchase media company Modstream, and CEO of outdoor ad agency Starlite Media. Prior to this, he was Senior Managing Partner of Marketing at Fusion 5, Founding Partner at the New York office of UK-based ad agency M&C Saatchi, and EVP/Group MD at McCann Erickson. Carlisle has a BA in Economics from Tufts University, and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Massachusetts.

'Tim's experience will complement our existing team and reinforce the company in its growth phase,' said CEO Keith Winter. 'With Tim on board, we will broaden our client roster and enhance our core business of objectively measuring the impact of our client's marketing communications activities.'

EmSense technology measures the extent to which consumers engage with ads on emotional and cognitive levels. The firm is headquartered in Monterey, CA, with offices in San Francisco, CA and Santa Monica, CA.

Last year, EmSense launched a high-tech brain-scanner to measure the brain waves, heart rates, and sweat responses of a test group playing an online military-themed game.
