Experian Launches Company Info Database

Experian has launched a new online 'Company Information' service to provide details about any UK private company, its shareholders and directors. The database also includes millions of companies in Asia Pacific and elsewhere.

As a basis for the new 24/7 system, Experian has created its own document and image store and retrieval infrastructure. Minimal click through is required to access data and documents, and images are presented by filing history rather than type to make it easier to identify patterns and missed filings.

The database also includes the complete Companies House register, and the firm claims that this helps its new service offer 'unrivalled depth and breadth of information' on UK private limited businesses at a service level that outpaces Companies House and other information providers.

Company Information provides access to more than 85 million Experian-owned original document images, and company documents are available in a packaged format rather than as individual documents.

Information is available on more than 2.8 million active GB and NI companies and 3.3 million dissolved companies, as well as details on over 15.3 million directors (both current and previous).

In addition, the database includes details about businesses from 14 countries across the globe - including 40 million online reports and over 10 million business records - plus access to online coverage about 8 million businesses in the Asia Pacific region.

Peter Griffiths, Head of Experian's Company Information service says the speed and efficiency of the service will allow users 'the freedom to concentrate on added value activities.'
