Omniture Tool Maps Shopper Behavior

January 15 2009

US web analytics firm Omniture has launched a product to provide retailers with real-time visual analysis of customer interactions, and correlate off-line data with online interactions.

The new DiscoverOnPremise solution has been designed to help retailers create more efficient cross-channel promotions, reduce shopping cart abandonment, identify the most profitable customer segments, and measure campaign return.

Key product features include:

  • Rapid data collection and analysis - to provide real-time insight
  • On- and offline data collection sources - to better understand cross-channel customer behavior
  • Customer pathing measurement - to determine customer purchase sequence across channels
  • Geographical analysis - visualization of data to identify new store locations, and
  • Data segmentation - for purchase propensity scoring and customer attrition analysis.
'Consumers today interact with retailers across many channels - researching a product online, placing an order at a call center and picking it up or returning it at a store,' explained Aseem Chandra, SVP of Product Marketing. 'DiscoverOnPremise is a means for retailers to validate their instincts and gut feelings during planning and in-season merchandising with actionable insights based on data.'

Omniture's software enables customers to capture, store and analyze information generated by their web sites and other sources. The firm recently extended its measurement capabilities to help marketers and developers better understand how iPhone users are interacting with applications.
