Harris Unveils Text Analytics Solution

In the US, Harris Interactive has created a text analytics solution that combines text mining technology from software supplier Clarabridge with proprietary advanced analytics, to help firms map market trends.

Clarabridge's text mining software provides an analytical view of text-based verbatims found in consumer feedback channels. The new Harris Interactive Text Analytics tool makes use of this to pull together the many sources of information available about clients' markets, to produce better trend forecasting.

It incorporates market intelligence from surveys, structured web content, and customer relationship management for a 360º view of market behavior.

By classifying and categorizing large volumes of text without manual coding, Harris says the tool can build interlocking connections and roadmaps between structured and unstructured data. It also captures insights from text-heavy information such as social media, online commentary, focus groups or interview transcripts, e-mail and chat exchanges, along with news releases and news groups.

'Text mining has morphed from a cumbersome process to an efficient and cost effective analytical process which is enterprise scalable,' says Scott Evans, VP of Text Analytics at Harris Interactive.
