Good Sports Announce Research Grant

August 7 2003

Specialist research agency Sports Marketing Surveys has announced a five year charitable programme to help the development of sport for the disabled and other groups. The contribution will be in the form of free research, to the value of £100,000.

Sports Marketing Surveys is headquartered in Surrey and has offices around the world. The company will help to launch sports-related projects where they feel that groups will benefit significantly from the data and analysis but can't afford to pay. The fund will be administered by a panel of individuals made up both of representatives from Sports Marketing Surveys and external adjudicators. Details of the application procedure will be published shortly.

Stephen Proctor, the company's Managing Director, hints that the free research is likely to be divided among a number of smaller projects: 'There are many cases where quite small research projects could be of enormous benefit to organisations or individuals, but there simply is no money available. As we approach 20 years of work in the Sports Industry, we hope our gesture will make a worthwhile contribution to bringing sport to a wider, and often underprivileged, sector of the population'.
