Tatham Retires as Burke CEO

January 12 2004

US-based agency Burke Inc. has announced the retirement of CEO Ron Tatham after 28 years with the company. Current president Michael Baumgardner will add the role of CEO. The changes will be effective from October 1st 2004.

Baumgardner has been with Burke since 1979. He was a teacher for The Burke Institute and director of consulting and analytical services before becoming president in 1994, and has authored articles for prestigious psychology publications. He serves on the Board of Directors of Burke Inc. and on the Board of Burke Employees Company.

Tatham will be available on a consultancy basis for the next five years and will continue to conduct seminars for The Burke Institute. He is an author, professor and consultant and is widely recognised for his academic career. Prior to joining Burke he taught at three universities, and he has served on MR Advisory Boards at three more. He is active in several professional organisations, has presented over 200 seminars and papers before professional groups, and is co-author of Multivariate Data Analysis.

Tatham says that 'After 28 great years at Burke, this is a big decision for me and my family. It is hard for me to leave a job that I have enjoyed so much, but I want to have more time for my family and to slow down the pace of my life'.

According to Baumgardner, Tatham leaves the helm with the company in a very strong position: 'Ron has been a tremendous mentor and guide for me. I plan to stay the course he has set and continue to implement the strategic plan'.
