Andrew AppelIn the US, The Advertising Research Foundation (The ARF) has appointed IRI President and CEO Andrew Appel as a member of its Board for a three-year term.

Founded in 1936, The ARF focuses on improving the practice of advertising, marketing and media research, and its membership comprises of more than 400 advertisers, ad agencies, associations, research firms, and media companies.

Appel (pictured) currently serves as President and CEO of retail analysis giant IRI, before which, he was SVP of Revenue Operations at Accretive Health, and he worked at insurance and human resource consulting specialist Aon, latterly as Chief Operating Officer, and before this as CEO of the firm’s HR consulting and outsourcing business Aon Consulting. Earlier, he was a Senior Partner at McKinsey and Company.

He joins The ARF’s Board, which comprises of senior leaders from advertising and marketing agencies, advertisers, media and technology companies, and research organizations.
