Kari ManninaIn the US, consumer understanding specialist Curion has appointed Kari Mannina as Global Strategy Director in its Research and Sensory Testing team.

Formed in 2017, through the merger of consumer product testing agency Q Research Solutions (QRS) and sensory methodology developer Tragon Corporation, Curion employs 'Quantitative Descriptive Analysis', a behavioral method where panel members use different senses to identify product similarities and differences. Earlier this year, the company launched eFive, a sensory and product insights platform for emerging brands, with testing facilities in Chicago, San Francisco, Dallas and New York City.

Mannina (pictured) joins from consumer intelligence provider Mintel, where she latterly served as Senior Account Manager of CPG Sales, overseeing a portfolio of CPG manufacturers and suppliers in the food and beauty sectors. Before this, she worked for Merkle-owned digital marketing solutions company HelloWorld (formerly ePrize), partnering with CPG and retail accounts to develop and implement digital campaigns.

In her new role, Mannina will be responsible for the acquisition, growth and expansion of new clients. CEO Sean Bisceglia comments: 'Kari has a track record from large companies where she grew accounts, achieved year-over-year growth and collaborated with marketing teams to drive brand awareness. She has worked with global brands, and she will be a great asset as we seek to expand our current client base with large, global clients.'
