Laing Joins Former Partner at Deckchair Data

January 8 2019

In the US, Parametric Marketing co-founder and former ORC International SVP Scott Laing has been named a Partner at Deckchair Data, joining the company's founder and his former colleague Chris Robson.

Scott LaingRobson and Laing previously ran boutique analytics and insights consultancy Parametric Marketing for a decade, prior to its acquisition by ORC International (now Engine in the US) in 2013. Robson then joined ORC International to lead the Research Science team, and later became its Chief Innovation Officer, while Laing led development of research products and worked as a lead consultant with many of the larger client companies.

Last May, Robson left ORC International to set up Deckchair Data, which offers a combination of business understanding and data science - the latter includes analysis, data engineering, machine learning, statistics and AI tools and technologies to help clients drive their businesses. Laing takes up the role of Partner and co-founder in a team which includes Qualitative Consultant Laura Kleckner, and Eff Robson, who oversees operations.

In a statement, Chris Robson said: 'It seems that our beliefs about how the industry is changing have already resonated with many partners, clients and friendly competitors. We are already actively working with a number of them. We love this industry, and with all the change it is going to be exciting and challenging. But the world was never changed by sitting on the couch - we are up and ready to make a difference'.
