New CEO for Fishbowl

Restaurant sector marketing and analytics firm Fishbowl has appointed restaurant tech sector veteran Mike Dodson as its new CEO.

Mike DodsonOwned by STG (Symphony Technology Group), whose portfolio has included IRI, Simmons, Hitwise and Connexity / Shopzilla, Fishbowl is offers solutions for the food service industry including a Guest Management Platform, analytic consulting and agency services using data from its thousands of restaurant clients. These help clients to engage guests, increase brand loyalty and accelerate same-store sales, as well as helping with key business decisions. The firm is headquartered in Alexandria, VA, with offices in Silicon Valley, CA; London, UK; and Bangalore and Noida, India.

Dodson (pictured) has served as an advisor to emerging technology companies such as Resy and Rewards Network. In fourteen years at reservations and reviews site OpenTable, he served as Chief Revenue Officer / SVP of Global Sales and Restaurant Relations, helping to scale it from fewer than 800 restaurants in only four cities to more than 40,000 across the world. He also helped steer it through an IPO and the acquisition of Priceline Group. Before OpenTable, he spent a dozen years at American Express, in roles including VP and General Manager of Merchant Services.
