Cision Brings in Former Kantar Men to Lead in EMEA

February 4 2019

PR and media intelligence firm Cision has appointed Precise Media Group co-founders Peter Low and Keir Fawcus to head up its EMEA team, as MD and SVP of Sales respectively. The two both worked at Kantar Media after the WPP division acquired Precise in 2014.

Cision logoCision kicked off 2019 with two acquisitions, social media insights and management company Falcon.io in the New Year, and PR analytics provider TrendKite three weeks later - whilst also selling its email marketing assets to a 'strategic buyer' for $49m. The Falcon buy in particular has increased its European footprint, including offices in Berlin, Copenhagen, Sofia and Budapest; but at the same time it has lost its President Europe, Middle East, India and Africa (EMIA).

Low has been at Kantar since its 2014 acquisition of Precise, of which he was CEO. He served as Kantar Media's Chief Strategy Officer, leading the integration of its monitoring and evaluation businesses in Europe. Earlier he was CFO and MD Europe for PR Newswire, acquired by Cision in June 2016.

Fawcus led the Kantar Media Reputation Intelligence businesses in the US and UK, and earlier in his career managed the current affairs division of Citigate Dewe Rogerson.

Cision CEO Kevin Akeroyd welcomes the pair's 'track record of operational excellence' and combined five decades of industry experience, and adds: 'Their in-market expertise in the EMEA region will be instrumental as we expand our global leadership in Earned Media Management - the unification of technology, data, measurement and analysis to modernize the comms function from an expense into a business driver for organizations around the world'.
