Tru Optik Hires First Chief Privacy Officer

US-based TV audience measurement firm Tru Optik has hired Jonathan Bokor for the newly created role of Chief Privacy and Business Affairs Officer.

Jonathan BokorTru Optik's platform enables users to deliver cross-screen targeting and attribution, by combining census-level over-the-top (OTT) viewer data with third party demographic, lifestyle and purchase data. Bokor (pictured) joins from Publicis Media, where he served as SVP, Director of Precision Video, providing consultancy to the firm's media agencies across addressable TV, data-driven linear TV, and OTT/CTV. Before this he was Director of Advanced Media at MediaVest; and General Manager, iTV Solutions at Canoe Ventures; having begun his career at New York law firm Debevoise & Plimpton, before working as a consultant for NBC Universal. He previously served on Tru Optik's Advisory Board.

In his new role, Bokor will be responsible for Tru Optik's privacy compliance and enterprise business negotiations. He will also lead Tru Optik's OptOut.TV solution, which enables consumers to manage their participation in targeted OTT ad campaigns.

Bokor will report to CEO Andre Swanston, who comments: 'Jonathan has served as an advisor to the company, and now as a member of our executive leadership team, will lead our privacy policies, partnerships and solutions to ensure that we are acting in the best interest of the consumers, publishers, ad tech platforms and agencies that are so critical to the success of OTT and Connected TV'.
