BARC India Hires and Promotes

TV audience rating body BARC India has appointed Aaditya Pathak as EVP-Partnerships & Growth, while promoting Elbert D'silva to lead its Product Leadership & Excellence team.

Aaditya PathakBARC India (The Broadcast Audience Research Council) was launched in 2015, and last month announced it will integrate an expanded Out of Home (OOH) TV viewing measurement service with in-home TV viewing data on its Media Workstation (BMW) software.

Pathak (pictured) joins with a career spanning more than nineteen years across the television sector, in roles at Hindi GEC, Movies, Sports, Niche & Infotainment. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President & National Sales Head of Sony Pictures Entertainment, responsible for pan-India advertising revenues for Sony PIX, Sony PIX HD and Sony Le Plex. D'silva now leads the Product Leadership and Excellence team, which focuses on non-traditional revenues along with building the traditional business model further. He joined BARC India in 2015, having previously spent seven years at Viacom 18, latterly as Senior Account Manager; and earlier worked as Senior Planning Manager at Madison World, and Project Manager at Viventis Solutions.

Commenting on the news, CEO Partho Dasgupta said: 'At BARC India, we are constantly evolving - from launching unique products to improving client servicing and now looking at non-currency initiatives to provide better industry insights for businesses. We are further strengthening our Product Leadership and Excellence Team under Elbert's able guidance, and will also be synergizing our teams to improve and refine our servicing to build better client relationships with Aaditya helming this from the front'.
