Ag Insights Firm DTN Names New CEO

US agriculture industry insights provider DTN has appointed former Nielsen exec Steve Matthesen as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Ron Sznaider, who will remain with the organization as Vice Chairman of the Board.

DTN provides agricultural information solutions, market intelligence and in-depth market analysis to agricultural producers, agribusiness leaders and commodity market traders. Matthesen (pictured) joins after serving as CEO of B2B sales and marketing agency Acosta. Before this, he spent nearly seven years at Nielsen, where he latterly worked as President, Global Retail responsible for leading the firm's retailer relationships in more than 100 countries. Before this, he was Nielsen's President, Latin America; EVP, Product; and EVP Professional Services. Earlier in his career, Matthesen spent more than fourteen years at The Boston Consulting Group, latterly as Partner and Managing Director.

In his new role, Matthesen will support the company's global expansion. Commenting on the appointment, Sznaider said: 'Over the past two years, DTN has acquired numerous organizations and brought new innovation to our customers in the energy, agriculture, weather and financial analytics industries.
