BuzzFeed Hires SVP of Research and Insights

In New York, online news and entertainment company BuzzFeed has appointed Shari Cleary as Senior Vice President of Research and Insights.

Shari ClearyCleary (pictured) joins with more than twenty years' media analytics experience. Most recently, she worked for Comedy Central, overseeing analytics and consumer insights across all the brand's platforms. Prior to this she spent more than eight years at Viacom, latterly as SVP of Digital Strategic Insights & Research for the firm's Music & Entertainment Group which includes MTV, VH1, Comedy Central, Paramount TV and TVLand's web sites, mobile apps and social media accounts. Earlier in her career, Cleary held senior research positions at Adobe Omniture and CBS, with previous stints at Comscore and Nielsen. She also previously served as an Executive Board Member for the Digital Analytics Association, and co-founded the Media Special Interest Group.

In her new role, she will oversee all advertising analytics, while leading efforts to establish standardized distributed measurement representative of cross-platform audiences. She reports to Chief Revenue Officer Lee Brown, who comments: 'Shari's deep understanding of audiences and the way they engage with content across platforms, as well as her impressive background in digital media make her the perfect choice to lead our research and insights group. As the world becomes more connected and advertising continues to be disrupted, I'm confident her leadership and ability to tell data driven narratives will provide better insights for our partners'.
