Video Analytics Specialist Innovid Expands to Japan

Online video ad and analytics tech firm Innovid has opened an office in Tokyo, where it has appointed Toichiro Watanabe as Regional Director, Japan.

Toichiro WatanabeNew York-based Innovid, which also has offices in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, Tel Aviv, Sydney and Singapore, provides MRC-accredited tools to create, deliver and measure video campaigns. These tools capture consumer engagement with proprietary real-time analytics and reporting, providing insight into ad 'viewability', engagement, awareness and social media sharing. In January, the firm raised $30m in a round of pre-IPO funding, since when it has hired more than 60 new members of staff.

Watanabe (pictured) joins the new office from Google's DoubleClick, where he worked for more than six years and launched products such as DoubleClick Search (Search Ads 360) and DoubleClick Bid Manager (Display and Video 360). He also developed the DoubleClick Campaign Manager (DCM) business in Japan; having previously served as a product specialist at Adobe/Omniture.

In his new role, Watanabe and his team will address market-specific trends and opportunities, engage with new Japan-based advertisers, and expand existing client relationships. CEO and co-founder Zvika Netter comments: 'Expanding Innovid's presence in APAC has been a major area of focus and we are now able to welcome many new global and regional advertising clients in Japan. Toichiro's executive leadership, deep technical expertise and local market relationships with both brands and agencies will enable Innovid to serve the Japan market in the best way possible'.
