Publisher Healthline to Create Insights Team

In San Francisco, consumer health and wellness publisher Healthline Media has hired Laurie Dewan as Vice President of Consumer Insights, responsible for building a new Customer Insights and Analytics function and recruiting a team of researchers.

Laurie DewanThe company's online properties include Healthline.com, Greatist.com and MedicalNewsToday.com, and provide information for health consumers. Articles reviewed by doctors, clinicians, nutritionists and other experts are viewed by more than 200 million site visitors each month.

Dewan (pictured) joins from entertainment software company Electronic Arts, where she served as Director of Consumer Insights, overseeing research initiatives across all titles in EA's portfolio and worked cross-functionally to drive new concept generation. Prior to this, she held senior insights and data roles at BabyCenter, Rdio, Warner Bros, Netflix and Movielink, and she ran her own media strategy consultancy Distill Group.

In addition, Steve Swaseyas joins as VP of Communications. Both report to SVP of Marketing Tracy Rosecrans, who comments: 'Healthline Media has enjoyed an astronomical ascent year over year, and this level of scale has brought both the excitement of driving more impact, and the necessity to further hone Healthline's consumer and business partner-facing narrative and better understand the customer journey.
