Engine Promotes Don Simons for CEO Insights Role

New York-based marketing solutions group Engine, parent of what used to be ORC, is promoting Don Simons from MD Business Development for its Insights Group to CEO, Insights, North America, replacing Oliver Rust who has moved to Hong Kong to oversee the APAC region.

Don SimonsThe company says the move comes as its insights business 'pivots into a more modern data and analytics-driven product suite'. Engine, which was acquired by Chicago-based Lake Capital in 2014, offers market research and data analytics, along with ad, branding, CRM and PR services. In summer 2018 it restructured, bringing three of its existing North America-based business units - ORC, Deep Focus and Engine Media - under the single brand 'Engine'. The ORC International brand was retained briefly in the UK but has now also been absorbed.

Prior to joining Engine, Simons spent more than two decades at GfK and predecessor companies, in roles including VP Customer Satisfaction, VP ofMystery Shopping, VP Asia Pacific Development, MD Consumer and latterly Head of Sales for North America.

Engine, which in march this year hired Bloomberg Media exec Keith Grossman as its first Chief Operating Officer, is online at www.enginegroup.com .
