Comscore Promotes for Movie Division Lead

September 27 2019

Comscore has promoted Arturo Guillén to the role of SVP & Global Managing Director of its movie division, taking the reins from SVPs Steve Buck and Jim Zak.

Arturo GuillénBuck and Zak left the roles of SVP of Business Relations and SVP of International Theatrical a month ago, as the company announced it was cutting around 8% of its workforce.

Guillén has 23 years of experience in international box office, including work for analytics companies Nielsen EDI and Rentrak, and led the expansion of Comscore's box office reporting practices into markets such as Turkey, the Middle East, West Africa and India, as well as strengthening its presence in western Europe. He launched Rentrak's first international VOD measurement service with Spanish platform Canal Plus/Yomvi; and earlier had responsibility for Comscore's EMEA & India operations and its partnerships with start-ups such as Showtime Analytics and Gower Street Analytics. Before joining Rentrak and Comscore he spent ten years at Nielsen in Spain, after three at EDI, which Nielsen acquired at the turn of the millennium.

In his new role, he will oversee an operation spanning 200 employees across 70 markets and covering 90% of the global box office, as well as a partnership with Screen Engine, PostTrak, which provides weekend exit polling and moviegoing demographic reports for the major studios.

CEO Dale Fuller comments: 'There is an incredible amount of complexity and opportunity in the industry today, and finding the right leaders to act as change agents for Comscore Movies was one of the most important decisions we've made this year. I've been highly impressed with Arturo's leadership within Comscore. He now give us a formidable leadership advantage as we continue to develop innovative products, services and solutions for our clients'.
