IDC Promotes for A/NZ Roles

Tech intelligence and events firm IDC has promoted company veteran Tehmasp Parekh to the role of Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand. Additionally, Louise Francis, Research Director for A/NZ, will take on the expanded role of Country Manager, IDC New Zealand, reporting to Parekh.

IDC (International Data Corporation) provides market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the IT, telecoms, and consumer technology markets. With more than 1,100 analysts worldwide, the firm offers global, regional, and local expertise on technology and industry opportunities and trends in more than 110 countries.

Parekh (pictured), who is based in Sydney, began his career with the firm in Hong Kong in 1996, and was most recently Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer for IDC Asia/Pacific. Earlier, he served as Financial Controller at Hong Kong-headquartered investment, manufacturing and shipping conglomerate Kishinchand Chellaram; and he was Manager - Internal Audit for United Carbon (Cabot) in Mumbai.

In his new role, Parekh will lead the local teams on the ground and work closely with IDC Asia/Pacific and global domain experts. He will report directly to IDC Asia/Pacific's MD Eva Au, who comments: 'Tehmasp will lead IDC's global coverage with regional and local presence, knowledge, expertise and support in Australia and New Zealand. Francis expands her Auckland, New Zealand-based role after more than eleven years with IDC, which she joined in 2008 as Senior Market Analyst, IT Spending and Industry Insights.
