UK Newspaper Group Reach Hires Chief Customer Officer

Facebook Retail team head Maureen McDonagh is to join newspaper publisher Reach, formerly Trinity Mirror, in the new role of Chief Customer Officer.

McDonagh, who takes up the new role in January, joined Facebook in 2013 after working as Digital Commerce Director (EMEA & Global) at Nectar Loyalty and Head of Partner Marketing & eCommerce at News UK. In her current role she runs the social network's client-facing Retail team.

Reach publishes 240 regional papers in addition to the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror, The Sunday People, Daily and Sunday Express, the Daily Star, Scottish Daily Record and Sunday Mail and OK magazine. In her new job she is charged with delivering a joined up data and customer strategy.

She joins the Senior Executive Committee and reports to recently appointed CEO Jim Mullen, who comments: 'With her blend of media, e-commerce and customer loyalty experience, Maureen will be perfectly placed to drive our customer-centric vision and targets forward, ultimately helping us to continue to innovate and develop new customer revenue streams.
