New CEO for Mobile Ad Targeting Firm Amobee

In the US, mobile ad targeting firm Amobee has named Samba Natarajan as its new Chief Executive Officer, as Kim Perell steps down to 'pursue her passion for supporting start-up entrepreneurs'.

Samba NatarajanAmobee, which is owned by Singapore Telecommunications (Singtel) applies artificial intelligence (AI), proprietary data, and advanced analytics, to help advertisers run targeted mobile ad campaigns on a global scale. Its automated 'Amobee Triggers' suite includes a feature called Foundational Triggers which can be used to launch campaigns based on data signals such as specific weather conditions.

Natarajan takes up his new role while maintaining his position as CEO of Singtel's Group Digital Life, where he is responsible for the group's digital portfolio, including Amobee, HOOQ, DataSpark and Innov8. Earlier, he worked for McKinsey & Co as Partner, Head TMT Practice, South East Asia; having begun his career with nine years at Citibank.

Perell has served as Amobee's CEO since 2016, and was previously CEO of digital marketing company Adconion Direct, acquired by Amobee in 2014. Amobee's Chairman Evangelos Simoudis comments: 'We are fortunate to have someone of Samba's caliber taking over to lead the next stage of Amobee's growth. His strong content knowledge and global corporate experience will allow us to further accelerate our growth strategy to win in converged advertising'.

Simoudis adds: 'On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Kim for helming Amobee over the past three years. Under her leadership, Amobee has successfully integrated the acquisitions of Turn and Videology, positioning it to deliver superior converged advertising solutions'.
