Ipsos India Reshuffles Operations Leadership Team

Ipsos India has promoted Deepak Garkhel to the role of Operations Director for its 'APEC' region (Asia Pacific Excluding China) region; Pratim Thakurta to Operations Head; and Kedar Padgaonkar to lead data processing.

Garkhel (pictured) joined in 2014 as Executive Director - Head of Operations in India, having previously served as National Operations Director at Millward Brown. Before this he was SVP at MarketProbe, and he spent nine years at TNS and ten at Gallup. He will now oversee operations in twelve markets in the APEC region, reporting to Hamish Munro, Global CEO of Ipsos Interactive Services and Operations, with a dotted line to Christophe Cambournac, CEO, Ipsos AMEA.

Thakurta will oversee quality assurance and budget planning, while also leading National Field Operations, reporting to Amit Adarkar, CEO of Ipsos India. He has around 27 years' experience gained at Ipsos, Nielsen, TNS, Gallup and Indica. Padgaonkar, who has almost two decades' experience in data processing, is responsible for scripting, having previously driven new initiatives for capturing data through tablets, automation and dashboards. He reports to Raja Bunet, Executive Director, Mobile First & New Initiatives at Ipsos India.

Commenting on the news, Adarkar said: 'It was extremely important to synchronize operations in the region and to tie up the loose ends, at the same time leverage opportunities, which I did for most part in 2019. Now that things are on a smooth grid, Garkhel will be adept at taking it forward. All these new roles in operations and field and tab will further strengthen our position in the marketplace, ensuring our data quality sets the highest benchmarks for clients'.
