Publicis Names Head of Data Science in India

In India, marcoms group Publicis has appointed former Cognizant director Deepak Pant as Head of Data Science.

Deepak PantThe Data Science practice delivers data strategy and advanced analytics solutions through its more than 100 professionals, who utilise Publicis' capabilities across marketing, media, digital, data and technology to design models for predictive analytics and business intelligence. Pant (pictured) joins from IT and business process consultancy Cognizant, where as Director - AI & Analytics, he helped clients with their digital transformation initiatives by setting up data frameworks and using data science to deliver business impact. Prior to this, he spent more than five years at Nielsen in Chicago as Director - Advanced Analytics, having previously been Manager - Analytics at 4i Consulting Group.

In his new role, Pant is charged with enhancing the group's capabilities around measurement, research, advanced analytics, digital analytics, data strategy and development of the Publicis People Cloud. Anupriya Acharya, CEO, Publicis Groupe South Asia, comments: 'In the last six years we have made significant progress in our Data Science practice and today it competes with the best specialist shops. While it started as a centre of excellence providing advanced analytics solutions to our global clients, in the last 3-4 years we have seen increased appetite and hence huge uptake even in the local market'.
