New CEO for Conversation Intell Platform Chorus.ai

San Francisco-based Chorus.ai has appointed Jim Benton as Chief Executive Officer, replacing founder and President Roy Raanani. The company has also hired Tat Ng as Vice President of Engineering.

Jim BentonChorus, which also has offices in Tel Aviv and Boston, was set up to understand what influences conversation outcomes and help clients learn from and influence the thousands of conversations their teams take part in. Benton (pictured) joins after a stint as CEO of data-first engagement platform Apollo, having previously co-founded SaaS-based sales engagement platform ClearSlide in 2009, raising a total of $89m in funding before being acquired by software company Corel in 2017. Earlier, he held senior roles at Internet ad marketplace AdBrite, Ticketmaster, Evite (which later acquired Ticketmaster), and AT&T.

Commenting on the appointment, Raanani said: 'Jim is not only a visionary in SaaS sales technology but a principled and professional leader. I'm proud to have him as a friend and partner and couldn't be more excited to welcome him as Chorus' new CEO. His passion for helping companies bring their best to every interaction will enable Chorus to take full advantage of the opportunities ahead'.

Ng joins from Stellar Labs, and is tasked with overseeing the continued development of the firm's capabilities and scaling the platform as the business grows.
