Orchidea Names North America Bus Dev Director

India and Australia-based online panel and technology provider Orchidea Research has hired Patrick Callaghan as Director, Business Development for the North America region.

Founded in 1989, Orchidea initially worked on 'pen and paper' projects on behalf of the Indian government before closing down in 2001. Three years later, the company was re-opened as a digital research specialist by former Toluna/Paradigm Sample Project Manager Vaibhav Kushwaha, in partnership with Harry Singh, who is a relative of the firm's original founder Swaran Singh.

Callaghan(pictured) joins with more than twenty years' new business development experience, building and leading sales and marketing teams in industries including market research and healthcare. Most recently, he worked at Dynata, helping to build the healthcare practice in the US. Before this he was CRO at ObtainCare; Business Unit Executive at ACT Operations; and he worked for Kantar-GMI as a Senior Director.

Making the announcement, Kushwaha said: 'Patrick's addition to the team is a step further in our commitment to increase our engagement with our clients to understand and delivery actionable results for them with minimum fieldwork hassle'.
