Scott Barlow Named Hotspex UK MD

August 19 2020

Toronto, Canada-based employee-owned research firm Hotspex has promoted Scott Barlow from VP, Research to the role of Managing Director of its UK office. He replaces Michael Dorr, who is now a Strategic Consultant at innovation-led insights agency Research Strategy Group.

Scott BarlowFrom its existing offices in Toronto, New York, London, and Tel Aviv, Hotspex works with advertisers in more than 33 countries to drive brand growth by accelerating the speed to market of new ideas. The firm's proprietary human motivation measurement platform helps brands trigger consistent emotions, personality associations, sensory cues, and rational benefits across all touch points along the shopper journey.

Barlow (pictured) joined last year, after serving as Head of London Business at sensory and consumer insight specialist MMR Research, where he led an FMCG team of 20 client-facing researchers. Prior to this, he spent nearly ten years at TNS, focussing on brand, communications and innovation studies. He takes over at MD from Dorr, who left Hotspex earlier this month, after nearly a decade at the firm.

In his new role, Barlow will be responsible for continuing to grow the Hotspex brand across the European continent. CEO and founder Shane Skillen comments: 'I am very excited to have Scott in the UK Managing Director role. He has very big shoes to fill and I can see him filling them already with some fresh ideas and huge opportunities since Hotspex placed #1 in the GRIT by clients for being most innovative. Scott IS innovation and the other thing he is, is a safe pair of hands to care for his clients and staff. A true gent indeed'.
