Former Truesight CEO to Lead Cision

In the US, media intelligence specialist Cision has appointed former Truesight CEO Abel Clark as Chief Executive Officer. He replaces Kevin Akeroyd who left the business in February, and now serves as CEO of workforce management solutions firm PRO Unlimited.

Recently acquired by an affiliate of global investment firm Platinum Equity, Cision offers software which allows users to identify key influencers, develop and distribute content, and measure campaign impact. Last year, it acquired social media insights and management company Falcon.ioTrendKite; and Unmetric, which delivers insights from social media benchmarking, audience engagement and content performance.

Clark (pictured) joins after more than two years leading marketing analytics firm Truesight. Before this, he had a long career at Thomson Reuters, latterly as Global MD of the Financial division, having earlier worked for the Reuters Group as SVP, Global Head of Business Development, Research & Asset Management.

Brandon Crawley, MD at Platinum Equity, who was acting as Cision's interim CEO, says his firm's focus has been on 'unlocking the value potential' of Cision. He adds: 'We are excited for Abel to help push this vision forward and confident that his customer-oriented approach and his extensive background in driving successful global growth strategies will be invaluable'.
