Behavioural Science Specialist Launches Agency

January 19 2021

In the UK, behavioural science specialist Chris Harvey has launched a new company called Activate Research, promising to help research agencies and end clients better understand, predict and change behaviour.

Chris HarveyHarvey (pictured) has worked as an independent behavioural science research consultant since leaving dentsu-owned B2B International, where he was a Research Director, in 2019. Earlier he worked for Revealing Reality (ESRO) as Director of Behavioural and Quantitative Methods. Earlier, and in senior roles at GfK, Future Thinking, YouGov and dunnhumby.

His new firm Activate Research complements what Harvey calls 'long-established' quantitative and qualitative methods with innovative approaches drawn from behavioural science and wider psychology. A particular area of focus is making quant more exploratory, through the incorporation of approaches such as personality frameworks.

Commenting on the launch, Harvey said: 'Now, more than ever, it is vital that businesses are able to fully understand all the complexities of human behaviour - and in particular, how best to inspire change. I'm excited about continuing to help agencies and end clients in sectors such as pharma and FMCG to benefit from the combination of research industry experience, and knowledge gained from studying Behavioural Science at Masters level, that Activate brings to the table'.
