Former CBS Television Researcher Joins Whip Media

Entertainment sector software and data firm Whip Media has appointed former CBS Television SVP Research Eric Steinberg in the new role of Media Research and Insights Lead, overseeing its television and film research and analysis.

Eric SteinbergWhip Media analyses how consumers watch and engage with programming in real time, and uses this to help clients understand which TV and movie titles are resonating with viewers and develop content, strategic marketing and distribution strategies accordingly. Data covers more than 4.5 million television episodes and movies across 130 countries and 1,100 platforms, and includes audience demographics, device usage and cross-platform viewing activity.

At CBS, Steinberg (pictured) ran the West Coast research department for nearly two decades, responsible for all program research, pilot testing, primary research and audience measurement analysis. His work included a significant role in the development of the network's innovative MGM Grand Television City research facility. Before joining the broadcaster, Steinberg was VP, Television Research at Paramount Pictures; and he began his television career at Petry Television in New York.
