Radiocentre Names First Head of Insight

June 3 2021

In the UK, commercial radio industry body Radiocentre has hired former Kinetic exec Tara Wilkinson for the newly created role of Head of Insight.

Tara WilkinsonRadiocentre represents members from small independent local radio groups to major multi-media groups with a large portfolio of stations, both nationally and locally. Its research studies cover listener, effectiveness, and creative insight, as well as policy research. Wilkinson (pictured) joins from out of home (OOH) media agency Kinetic WW, where she served as Research Director, having previously worked for research agency MindMover as an AD. Earlier, she was Senior Research Manager at both The Telegraph and Fox International.

Reporting to Planning Director Mark Barber, Wilkinson's remit is to help boost the resources and strengths of the Insight team. Her first project has been to commission Radiocentre's latest Listening in Covid study - Radio and The Road Ahead - which will explore how listener confidence is being bolstered by the vaccination roll-out combined with, in many cases, better than expected personal finances.

Barber comments: 'We've created this role to reflect the growing importance of using research to inspire new ways of thinking about media and to complement learning from first party data. Tara has rich experience in media research gained across a broad range of sectors which makes her perfectly placed'.
