Standard Media Index Names Insights & Analytics Head

In New York, advertising intelligence company Standard Media Index (SMI) has appointed Rick Bruner as Head of Insights & Analytics.

Rick BrunerSMI collects ad pricing and spend data from actual invoices from media buying groups and independents, accounting it says for 85 percent plus of all agency spend. This is used to provide ad intelligence across all media types, including television, digital, out of home, print and radio.

Bruner (pictured) joins with more than twenty years' experience. He previously led research and product teams at DoubleClick, Google, MTV Networks, Marketing Evolution and Viant Technology. Most recently, he served as fFounder and CEO of Central Control, an advanced media analytics firm of which he will serve as Chairman going forward. In addition, Bruner is currently Vice Chair for the US arm of I-COM, a global forum for marketing science, and he is alsohe serves as a Research Affiliate of the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF).
