Ogilvy Aus Hires Chief Data and Analytics Officer

June 8 2021

In Australia, WPP-owned marcoms agency Ogilvy has appointed Torque Data founding partner Mark Albert as Chief Data and Analytics Officer, leading data execution across the Ogilvy ANZ Network.

Mark AlbertAlbert (pictured) began his career in London at WWAV Rapp Collins as Senior Planning Manager, before joining WPP's interactive marketing network OgilvyOne as Data Planning Manager. He then in 2002 became a founding partner and COO of Australian data and analytics agency Torque Data, which was sold to Virgin Australia's loyalty programme Velocity Frequent Flyer in 2015, and where Albert continued to work as Head of Data Consult until last December.

In his new role, Albert will use his consulting and practical experience across data-driven marketing, CRM and loyalty programmes. Sally Kissane, Ogilvy Australia CEO, comments: 'We couldn't be happier to welcome Mark back into the Ogilvy family after many years. Mark has a wonderful way of de-mystifying the world of data and making sense of what's important for brand and business growth. There are very few people in Australia that have Mark's depth of experience and capability, and we are excited to merge his knowledge with our creative work'.
