Ipsos MORI Names Director of Economic Evaluation

Ipsos MORI Public Affairs has appointed Ricky Lawton as Director of Economic Evaluation, to work across a range of policy areas, and apply economic evaluation techniques to quantify and value the economic, social and environmental impacts of policies.

Ricky LawtonLawton (pictured) joins after more than seven years at policy evaluation specialist Simetrica-Jacobs, where he latterly served as Director of Research and Analysis, leading on economic valuation and specialising in causal analysis, survey design and non-market valuation methods. Prior to this, while working on his PhD in Environmental Economics and Policy, he was on secondment in the Cabinet Office's Behavioural Insights, Analysis and Insights team, serving as National Wellbeing Economics Analyst.

Lawton's experience of national economic evaluation projects includes the Highways England A303 Stonehenge tunnel business case and Development Consent Order; the Government Property Agency Levelling-up agenda; the Football Association (FA) Economic and Social Impact Evaluation of grassroots football; the DCMS Cultural Value Project; and transport projects such as the Airports Commission study into wellbeing impacts of aviation noise. In addition, he has published more than fifteen peer-reviewed academic journal articles and sits as a Co-Investigator on the AHRC research team.
