Kantar to Continue Paying Ukranian Staff

March 18 2022

Despite suspending its business in Ukraine, Kantar has decided to continue paying salaries to employees there until the end of the war.

Daria ZhylenkoKantar began operating in Ukraine in 2008, although the companies comprising the group have been working in the country for more than 30 years. The business specialises in understanding how Ukrainians think, consume, buy, view and vote.

Earlier this month, WPP - which still owns a stake in Kantar - announced it is discontinuing operations in Russia, where the group employs nearly 1,400 people. In response to the ongoing war, Kantar has put together a $1m fund to help Ukrainian employees and their families, and to provide assistance for employees who want to move abroad temporarily.

Through a post on LinkedIn, Daria Zhylenko (pictured), Head of PR for Kantar Ukraine, said that all those who are now safe and able and willing to work will be able to help Kantar Ukraine and Kantar's international offices remotely. She explained that the group will continue to work on possible projects in Ukraine, such as conducting surveys to inform society about the people's mood in the country.
