ESOMAR Names Head of Professional Standards

ESOMAR has appointed Geraldine Proust as Head of Public Affairs and Professional Standards, responsible for leading global advocacy efforts; managing industry relationships and strategic partnerships; and developing and enforcing global regulatory professional standards for the industry.

Geraldine ProustBased in Brussels, Proust (pictured) joins after eleven years at European data and marketing industry body The Federation of European Data and Marketing (FEDMA). She latterly served as Director of Public Affairs and Director of Legal Affairs and represented FEDMA at the European Commission expert group on the implementation of GDPR. In addition, Proust is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and ECPC-B Professional DPO certified by Maastricht University.

In her new role, Proust will use her experience in digital policies, data protection and data marketing, as well as her skills in enriching and building professional connections across multiple industry sectors. She replaces Kim Smouter, who recently joined the European Network Against Racism as Director.
