Affinity Hires Ex-Nielsen EVP Damian Garbaccio

In New York, consumer purchase data platform Affinity Solutions has appointed former Nielsen EVP Damian Garbaccio as its first Chief Business & Marketing Officer. In addition Mike Shehan, former CEO of video ad platform SpotX, has joined the firm's Advisory Board.

Damian GarbaccioAffinity Solutions' consumer purchase data is based on fully permissioned, real-time, credit card purchases. Garbaccio (pictured) joins after a career which included serving as Global Chief Revenue Officer of audience targeting specialist eXelate, which was acquired by Nielsen in 2015. He then spent four years at Nielsen, latterly serving as EVP, Advertiser Direct & Marketing Cloud, managing teams that execute global engagements with marketers, media brands, and agencies. He also led advertiser/NMC business development efforts which included: advanced TV (addressable, OTT) and all real-time measurement initiatives (automotive, CPG, and retail); as well as strategic data partnerships.

In his new role, Garbaccio will lead efforts to accelerate innovation and adoption of the company's deterministic consumer purchase data for use in outcome-based media planning, buying, and optimization.
